Clothing
Both men and women usually wore simple poncho type tunics with a belt or pins to hold the cloth in position. These tunics were made of wool from a llama or alpaca. The upper class would die their tunics with rich, bright colors and cover the tunics with integrate designs. Their belts were also colorful and often had precious gems or gold and silver inlay or designs. This distinguished the lower class from the upper class. Also, upper class clothes were usually made from finer wool and made with more precision. Both classes wore headdresses though the upper class Incas would adorn their headdresses with designs, tassels, and jewelry. The upper class would also include feathers of rare birds to further remove them selves from the lower class.
